Travel report. Insider info on Maputo - A pity, the country Mozambique is really very VERY rich in many diverse resources and natural beauties! It's capital Loreno Marques was renamed Maputo after independance. I visited the capital as a child.

Great list of Accommodation in Maputo Mozambique.

Nearly 20 years of war (1974-94) left Mozambique’s infrastructure either destroyed or neglected and the provision of services difficult – for example, only 30 percent of the population had access to safe water. The reforms of 1994 ushered in a new era with the introduction of private sector management, cost recovery tariffs and good regulation.

When people talk about the impact of rising sea levels, they often think of small island states that risk being submerged if global warming continues unchecked. But it's not only those on low-lying islands who are in danger. Millions of people live by the sea - and are dependent on it for their livelihoods - and many of the world's largest cities are on the coast. By 2050 the number of people living in delta cities is set to increase by as much as 70%, experts suggest, vastly increasing the number of those at risk. To shed light the impact of rising sea levels, we are taking a close look at two very different cities, Rotterdam and Maputo , and their varying responses to the problem.

The pathways in Maputo are amazing. Although often in a poor condition it is a great and comfortable feeling to walk these green, shady, broad promenades along the streets.
