The jewel of the Baltic, the Hermitage houses the largest art collection in the world. Stunning palaces and canals make Peter the Great`s `Venice of the North` a interesting place to visit.

This article is about US-Georgian policy and the aid package to rebuild and rearm Tblisi. In Azerbaijan on Wednesday, Mr Cheney said the US had a "deep and abiding interest" in the region's stability. I don't agree with Dick Cheney and Condoleeza Rice on foreign policy very often... and under normal circumstances such unqualified support in a relatively hot conflict would be ill advised, and indeed the administration has brought irreperable damage to our relationship with Russia-but Putin has given the US no way out. We may not have formally accepted Georgia into NATO yet, but we've asked and received a lot from their armed force during the course of our latest round of feckless global entaglements. We owe them- and all the former satellites our support, if and when they desire it. They were promised as much when the Berlin Wall fell. This is the first situation where war is actually a danger- and dangerous- for the survival of the US since 1989.

Farewell, NATO! America's Cold War alliance with Europe has ceased to be a fruitful one

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union brought independence to Ukraine and shattered the Stalinist economy, the EU has become the biggest trading partner of the country. (Deutsche Welle)

Russia has warned that both the Russian and Australian economies will suffer if Canberra carries out a threat to withhold uranium sales to Moscow because of the conflict in Georgia. Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has joined world leaders in calling on Russia to observe a cease-fire agreement that requires it to remove its military from the former Soviet state.

The sub station from Moscow to Paris :)))

it is a Paris's gift to Moscow like a symbol friendship of France and Russia :) And it is not the first same French gift — Montreal, Lisbon, Mexico City and Chicago have same subway station in Art Nouveau style.

another shots 1 year ago

по-быстрому дощелкивала пару кадров возле вокзала, чтобы сдать пленки на проявку :)

Pare che proprio guardando la bellissima immagine di questo monastero riflesso nel laghetto, Čajkovskij compose il lago dei cigni...
