The outgoing President of United States has urged lawmakers to stake claims to Arctic’s vast and untouched natural resources. In a detailed policy directive the President made it clear that the Congress needs to reconsider the existing rules regarding control of the seabed. The President wants the lawmakers to make arrangements for the United States to stake claim on area extending beyond Alaska.

These incredible photographs look more like a scene from the end of the world than a winter sunrise. The dramatic pictures were taken in north west Greenland by British Arctic photographers Bryan and Cherry Alexander and show a storm brewing over an Inuit community.

The views as our plane flying from London and destined for Dallas flew over Greenland were remarkable. Beautiful clear skies showed up the desolate icy dessert below. Greenland is certainly a place I would like to experience. I wonder if they have any big retailers there?
