MASSACHUSETTS 1917 LICENSE PLATE

1917 Massachusetts plates were issued with a comma divider to separate the 1,000's in the serial number. rather fancy for the era and cool number fonts too. This plate is colored white on dark blue. In 1917 Massachusetts plates were shorter but taller still larger than the North American plates of today.

This year we surprised my dad by holding a birthday celebration at Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket Ontario. We tried very hard to keep it a secret; including screening phone calls, secretly borrowing his childhood photos, and remembering not to leave emails opened for him to read. The hard work really paid off as we had over 30 of his closest friends and family come to celebrate his birthday.

Happy Birthday Dad!

MASSACHUSETTS 1915 LICENSE PLATE

In 1915 Massachusetts license plates were porcelain enamelled iron and were colored white on dark blue. This plate was heavily porcenalized as the white numbers are quite thick and the plate is embossed with raised lettering to the touch. 1915 was the last year of porcelain plates in Massachusetts.
