Mysterious shadowy islands

Looking out over the ocean at these shadows towering above the waves, it made me feel like I was on Skull Island. I know, that's stupid. But that's what it reminded me of.

Slot machines

There was a small area setup with slot machines in the main lobby area. We played $1 just for fun. I first won $1.50, but then soon lost it all. I should have quit while I was a head.

The terrain and vegetation of St Thomas reminds me of Isla Nubar.

Blogging from a park bench

Waiting for my friends to arrive (we took separate flights), I sat on a bench and began to blog. This was my view while doing so.

Mountains and valleys

The whole island is a mountain range with deep valleys inside it. There are little villages and huts/houses all along this steep incline, giving the island a primitive feel.

I took this with a 5-second exposure f/3.2. There was a lightning storm happening all around the island at this same time.
