White Stripe (third calf of season I swam with and can photo ID), named for white stripes along dorsal length of tail region. Mother has elongated flukes.

Unusual behaviour: humpback whale rolling around on its back, swishing its tail back and forth, almost like a bear rubbing its back against a tree for a good scratch.

An unusual view of an unusual tail slap: body turned upside down, tail slap executed in reverse, with pectoral fins held to sides and up for stability.

Fifth calf of the season and mom. Calf named Blade, for sharp dorsal with white lining. Unusually large size, perhaps one of the earliest calfs of this season.

Scratches, the first calf of the season I had a decent swim with, though I was only in the water for perhaps 30 seconds in total. Mother resting head-down behind the calf.

The best place that I went to becasue the people were frendly and everything was very inexpensive.
