The global economic crisis has cost Arab countries $2,500bn (£1,690bn) in the last four months alone, according to Kuwait's foreign minister. Sheikh Mohammed al-Sabah told reporters in Kuwait City that oil-rich Gulf Arab states had postponed or cancelled 60% of development projects. He did not give details for his figures, which were released days before an Arab Economic Summit. Stock market falls and a low oil price have contributed to the losses. The biggest loss was an estimated 40% drop in the value of Arab investments abroad, which had previously tot

the kingdom's top cleric refusing to annul the marriage of an 8-year-old girl to a 47-year-old man. "It is incorrect to say that it's not permitted to marry off girls who are 15 and younger," Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, the kingdom's grand mufti, said in remarks quoted Wednesday in the regional Al-Hayat newspaper. "A girl aged 10 or 12 can be married. Those who think she's too young are wrong and they are being unfair to her." The judge rejected a petition from the girl's mother, whose lawyer said the marriage was arranged by her father to settle a debt with "a close friend." The judge required the girl's husband to sign a pledge that he would not have sex with her until she reaches puberty. Al-Sheikh was asked during a lecture Monday about parents forcing their underage daughters to marry. "We hear a lot in the media about the marriage of underage girls," he said, according to the newspaper. "We should know that Shariah law has not brought injustice to women."

Truck drivers in most parts of the world are renowned for the attention that is lavished on their trucks - including various types of decoration. It's clear that most of the heavy trucks in Riyadh are not driven by Saudis.

The State of Saudi Arabia professes to be an Islamic but it is a blunt representation of
commercialism over morales. This not to say commercialism is a bad thing but what makes this problematic is the religious leaders preach against the west including America as gluttonous and lustful even though they follow as such. Hypocritical to say the least.
Please note that the Star of David is meant to represent hypocrisy as Saudi Arabia supports America however preaches fiercely against Israel.

The logos represent commercialism and consumption.

The Saudi Arabian flag normally has the Shahada which is the oath to become a Muslim and lead a life of peace and good will but I think this is more befitting.
