La mezquita de Djenne es la mayor del mundo en su estilo, el sudanes. Su construcciĂłn durĂł un año completo, de 1906 a 1907 y estĂĄ realizada completamente de adobe. Todos los años, durante el mes de mayo, cientos de vecinos colaboran en la reconstrucciĂłn de la fachada, deteriorada por las intensas lluvias de la estaciĂłn hĂșmeda y por el tĂłrrido calor.
